The Phantasmal Dart Frog is a small, brightly coloured amphibian native to the tropical rainforests of Ecuador. Unlike their wild counterparts, captive-bred dart frogs are non-toxic as they do not consume the alkaloid-rich insects required to produce toxins. Adults typically grow to 1.5–2 cm in length and typically live for 8-10 years in captivity.
